I remember my daughter as a small child being so excited when she found a blue “rock” on the beach. I explained to her that it was actually glass returning to the sea. Like glass being created from sand, my original compositions start out as solo piano ideas. As the compositions develop, other instruments are blended in, with many outstanding musicians adding their own creative elements to each piece. Like glass returning to the sea, I have re-recorded these multi-instrumental compositions in their original solo piano form . . . seaglass.

1) WHAT DREAMS ARE MADE OF (from Suite Dreams) This piece is my own acknowledgement that I am truly blessed to be able to play the piano and share my music.

2) ORCAS MOON (from Destination) The Orcas moon rises behind silhouetted evergreen trees and casts a path of reflected light that dances across the water. This was co-written by my good friend Gene Nery.

3) NEITHER HERE NOR THERE (from Traveler) This song is about the journey – the excitement and momentum of being between here and there.

4) NO PLACE LIKE HOME (from Traveler) Home is where the heart is… thanks to my family, there is no place like home.

5) DAYDREAM (from Suite Dreams) How magical are the wonderful visions we create, of wishful thoughts and beautiful places, when we free the mind and let it soar.

6) MELEMAI (from Island Time) This piece was a gift to my newly born daughter, Jenole Melemai (“my music” in Hawaiian). Her heart still overwhelms me.

7) MILES OF DREAMS (from Traveler) “A traveler’s thoughts in the night wander in a thousand miles of dreams.” – Wang Li from “Seeking a Mooring.”

8) REFLECTION (from Island Time) I originally recorded this piece with some outstanding jazz musicians, but I will always think of it is a solo piano composition – alone at the piano to reflect within.

9) JAPANESE CURRENT (from Oceans) The ocean water I touch with my hands is touched by many others from the shores of distant lands.

10) ISLAND TIME (from Island Time) Floating on a sailboat in the San Juan Islands on a warm sunny day. This piece was co-written with Darrell Data, a wonderful musician from Seattle.

11) CROSSINGS (from Oceans) The ocean breeze, the gentle currents, and the sight of distant shores all welcome me to my island home.

12) OPEN ROAD (from Traveler) This was written for my son Kawika, when he turned 18 and left home. Time has now passed and I hope you enjoyed the open road!
