I have vivid memories of waking up on a snowy Christmas morning and discovering a bright red bicycle under the tree. A few months later, my parents asked if I remembered what I had received for Christmas. I didn’t have a clue. My lack of memory had a profound impact on our family’s Christmas traditions.

The following Christmas, instead of getting caught up in the holiday bustle, we found ourselves in a small log cabin on a northern Wisconsin lake. Our days were spent skiing and our nights sitting around the fire, playing games, talking, and reading. Whenever we were in the cabin, music filled the air from my sister’s portable stereo. Today when I hear Christmas music, it reminds me of the wonderful holidays with my family, deep in the snowy northern woods. Those skiing vacations were our Christmas gift, and each year this simple gift from my parents gave me memories I will never forget.

I hope this collection brings back many of your Christmas memories and helps create new ones for the future. My wife Jaylin, our children Kawika, Jenole, Cara, and I would like to wish you and yours a very joyful holiday season.
