Introducing a new series of solo piano CDs featuring original and popular music . . . PAINTING PARADISE. The first musical canvas of the series, In the Garden by Christopher Peacock, is now on display.
"Pianist Christopher Peacock delivers first class recordings . . ." Anne Williams, Host, WPLM Boston
Gardens have long represented the aspirations of the human spirit to create an ideal world. Whether it be a desire to recreate the Garden of Eden or bring an oasis to an arid desert, gardens are often the result of our search for a better world . . . longing for our own paradise. This CD represents my own musical garden. From planting the seeds for original compositions to cultivating other composers' works, my goal is to take you to a delightful place . . . In the Garden.
– Christopher Peacock
1) IN THE GARDEN by Christopher Peacock (Pure and Simple Island Productions)
In the garden, the design is created, the seeds are planted, and the sun and rain touch the soil. A perfect moment ... when mental inspiration, physical motivation, and spiritual grace meet.
2) FIELDS OF GOLD by Sting (Blue Turtle Music)
"I never made promises lightly and there may have been some that I've broken, but I swear in the days still left we'll walk in fields of gold."
3) FLOWS CALMLY by Christopher Peacock (Pure and Simple Island Productions)
Asian paradise gardens were a place where prayer and the contemplation of paradise on earth would provide redemption. The priest Genshin (942-1 O 17) wrote of them, "The flowers of many pleasures are spread out on the pond of grace ... And all the flowers shift in the light breeze ... Water flows calmly, neither too quickly, nor too slowly, with a faint, magic murmur." Dedicated to those who lost their lives on September 11,2001.
4) "LOVE AFFAIR" THEME By Ennio Morricone (WB Music Corp.)
The film "Love Affair," a remake of "An Affair to Remember," features Annette Benning's character introducing this theme on the piano in a scene with Katherine Hepburn and Warren Beatty, set on a tropical South Pacific island paradise.
5) DAYS AT SEA (Blue Water) by Richard Palalay (Leaning Mirror Music)
The beauty of a garden is enjoying favorite plants and watching them grow. I've always been inspired by the compositions of Richard Pala lay and I'm happy to have them in my garden. Thank you my friend.
6) ANGEL by Sarah Mclachlan (Sony/ATV Music Publishing)
"You're in the arms of an Angel, may you find some comfort here."
7) "LEGENDS OF THE FALL" THEME by James Horner (Sony/ATV Tunes LLC and TSP Music Inc.)
In a passionate scene from the film, the beautiful Susannah, played by Julia Ormond, plays this theme for the Ludlow men as she begins to steal their hearts.
8) DREAMING OF THE ISLANDS by Richard Palalay (Leaning Mirror Music)
A paradise in our mind, created either from memory or imagination, draws us near.
9) FOOLISH GAMES by Jewel (WB Music Corp. and Wiggly Tooth Music)
“You took your coat off and stood in the rain, you're always crazy like that.”
10) A BIT OF EARTH (From 'The Secret Garden") by Lucy Simon and Marsha Norman (ABCDE Publishing Ltd., Calougie Music, and WB Music Corp.)
"A bit of earth, she wants a little bit of earth. She'll plant some seeds, the seeds will grow. The flowers bloom, their beauty just the thing she needs.”
11) SAILING by Christopher Cross (Pop 'n' Roll Music)
“Well it’s not far down to paradise, at least it's not for me. And if the wind is right you can sail away and find tranquility. The canvas can do miracles, just you wait and see, believe me."
